PORT-OF-SPAIN – At least three regional leaders have praised the work of outgoing Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary General Edwin Carrington, as they contemplate a replacement for the Trinidad-born regional public servant, who demits office at the end of the year. Carrington, 72, the sixth Secretary General of CARICOM, said in a statement last week that it had been his privilege and honour to have been given the opportunity to serve the region and its people for 18 years, describing his tenure as the pinnacle of his public service career.
