FIRE VICTIM Peter Powlett is all smiles today.
He received $500 from the Barbados Lions Club South.
Powlett accepted the contribution during the club’s senior citizen luncheon earlier today, at Cuthbert Pilgrim Memorial Hall, Moravian Gardens, Maxwell, Christ Church.
Powlett who lived with his family of four, who lost their Upper Carters gap, Christ Church home to fire last week, commended the members of the club for their community spirit.
“My family has been trying to cope, but this is a real devastating situation. I am very glad to see that there are persons looking out for people who have experienced disasters.”
