Ministry, CXC to go over SBA

The Ministry of Education plans to meet with the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) to see how the situation with School Based Assessments (SBA) can be mediated.
A number of students at Christ Church Foundation and the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) schools were not graded for geography and electronic document preparation management (EDPM) respectively.
Neither Robert Cumberbatch, the principal of Foundation, nor his SDA counterpart Dr Cecil Cummins would speak to the issue, but it is understood that the required SBAs were not submitted by the schools.
Acting Deputy Chief Education Officer Erwin Greaves said he believed a “misunderstanding” was responsible for the “unfortunate” situation, which resulted in the students not knowing their fate, even though they would have completed the requirements.
