Deacons, Foundation advance

The rains might have altered the scrips but it did not cool off the court when the two quarter-final games of the Cooperators General Insurance Junior Knockout Vvolleyball Competition were replayed at the Carlton Court on Saturday night.
Titans looked like repeating their previous first set win over RBTT Deacons but the greater consistency of the Deacons unit took the match 26-24, 25-13. Deacons will advance to meet Progressive in the semis tomorrow.
Unlike Thursday’s contest when The Club won the first set, Foundation United grabbed that set and should have ended the battle in straight sets. However, the leadership of Andrew Brathwaite and tactical errors by Foundation carried the game into the third set.
However, the attack of Justin Bennett and Simba Alleyne carried Foundation into the semis 25-19, 24-26, 15-11. Foundation will clash with Chargers in the game tomorrow.
