The organizers are leaving no stones unturned in ensuring the safety of the crush of fans being expected for the September 11 kick-off of the LIME/Pelican Football Challenge.
Headed by chairperson Mia Mottley, Randy Harris and administrative manage Michelle Straughn, they toured the venue at Paradise Park where officials from the Red Cross, the Royal Barbados Police Force, and the Barbados Fire Service fine-tuned the preparations for the launch this month.
Mottley said the environmental and personal safety of spectators and players were paramount and officials were pleased with the planned arrangements for the competition. Â
Details were finalized for the placement of the seated spectators, the grounds as well as the media, with all efforts taken to separate players from spectators.
Mottley also suggested that groups should combine and travel to the matches in buses to make a family outing of the trips as well as to reduce traffic in the area. (KB)
