The Barbadian who took the award-winning board game Ezee Cricket to the world is now targeting international networks such as Nickelodeon with indigenously produced animation series.
James Corbin’s new firm Caribbean Digital Media Centre Inc. (CDMC), which will be officially launched on September 7, has already employed 30 artists, all Barbadian graduates of Barbados Community College, the University of the West Indies or overseas universities.
The DAILY NATION caught up with the reserved businessman in London last week and learnt that CDMC is partnering with heavyweights Toon Boom Animation and Bento Box Entertainment in providing A-grade training for CDMC’s animators at its office, Suite 102 A, Harbour Industrial Park, Bridgetown.
“We are associated with Toon Boom, the numberone software company in the world. All the animation studios use their software. We are also associatedwith Bento Box, a company out of California that has 125 artists and does work for Fox, Nickelodeon and other major networks. Hopefully they will findus some work,” he said in an interview.
