KFC may change hands

The local franchise for KFC, one of the world’s best-known fast food restaurant chains, appears to be up for sale.
Business sources have told the WEEKEND NATION that Fine Foods Inc. of Dominica has begun the process of acquiring the franchise from Barbadian Philmore Davis, who has held it since the early 1990s. The deal, which involves KFC’s 13 outlets here, is reportedly worth about $30 million, including the properties.
Karl Nassief, director of Fine Foods, declined to comment when contacted yesterday.
Nassief operates Rituals Coffee House, KFC and Save-A-Lot supermarket in Dominica.
