Safety plea to BCU

JUST ONE DAY into the season and the Barbados Cycling Union (BCU) has already felt the wrath of an enraged parent.
An incensed Loraine Goodman is emphatically calling for the BCU to stop staging road races if there aren’t sufficient marshals or police on site to control traffic.
Goodman stressed the need after witnessing her son nearly knocked down by oncoming traffic during a very frightening finish to Sunday’s season-opening event at Sterling, St Philip.
“I’m appalled that cyclists, especially youngsters, have to be riding through traffic and I am asking when will it end? When someone is killed?” asked an emotional Goodman.
