FOR THE SECOND TIME, 14-year-old Shekeila Wickham slipped out of her Mayers Road, My Lords Hill home in the dark of night. Since the second departure, her worried family has heard nothing from her.  Yesterday, Shekeila’s aunt, Heather Wickham, told the WEEKEND NATION that on July 29 she went to the Bacchanal Time vs The Best Of Crop-Over show only to return to the news that her niece was gone.  Heather lives with two of her sisters, Shernelle and Harriet, as well as five children, including Shekeila. She said Shernelle was the only adult at home when she left.
Shernelle said she was watching television as she waited for her other sisters to come home but she fell asleep.  “I woke up around 12:40 a.m. and thought ‘Harriet taking very long’ but when I went to check, she was in her room. I asked her how she got in and she told me the door was open. We then searched the house in case someone had broken in and found Shekeila was gone. Then we called the police,” said Shernelle.  Heather said Shekeila, a third form student of the Grantley Adams Memorial School, had left home unsupervised before.“Last week she left home after everyone had gone to bed. I woke up early and went to check on her around 4 a.m. and she was gone. We called the police and she showed up around 7 a.m., saying she went by a female friend. The police warned her they would charge her should she wander off again,” she said.
Shekeila is about 5’ 3” tall; stoutly built and of dark complexion. She has thick eyebrows; a round face; brown eyes; small mouth with thick lips; thick, short neck; small breasts; knocked knees; drooping shoulders; a light voice; black hair; walks with an erect appearance; and has a pleasant manner.  Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Shekeila is asked to contact the police at District A station at 430-7142/7246; Operations Control at 430-7100 or the nearest police station.
