AN ANGLICAN LEADER today called on Barbadians to value their resources and their history.
Canon Peter Haynes made the appeal while delivering his sermon at the Crop Over Festival thanksgiving service at St Peter’s Parish Church.
Haynes also hailed Barbadians for surviving slavery with their music, rhythms, dance and creativity intact. He said Barbadians had been able to blend culture and religion.
The service took on Crop Over overtones when the choir sang the hymn Jesus is Coming. It sounded just like Red Plastic Bag’s Something’s Happening. (TY)
