Angelou an inspiration

MINISTER OF CULTURE Stephen Lashley today hailed late American author and poet Maya Angelou as “an inspiration to many women in Barbados”.
He also described Angelou, who died at her home in North Carolina, the United States today at  age 86, as “one of the most significant Afro-American literary giants”.
Addressing the Editors’ Forum at The Nation newspaper’s Fontabelle, St Michael office, Lashley said the death of the legendary writer and civil rights activist had brought an era to an end. (TY)
