PORT-OF-SPAIN – Former Barbados all-rounder Ryan Hurley was voted Cricketer Of The Year at the prize-giving ceremony of the Central Zone recently.
Hurley, an off-spinning all-rounder played for eventual Division 1 champions Couva Sports, voted the Club Of The Year.
The 36-year-old scored 435 runs at an average of 72.50, with a highest score of 309 against Milton Sports Club. With the ball, he captured 46 wickets, with a best of eight for 19.
Hurley had played for Preysal for a number of years before making the switch across the highway to Couva Sports. The all-rounder attracted big crowds with his fierce hitting and more than useful off-spin bowling.
He is set to play for the West Indies Masters at next month’s CLOBI Cup World Masters Tournament. (CMC)
