STUDENTS AND STAFF of the Arthur Smith Primary School were forced to leave the compound early yesterday “because of an environmental situation at the school”.
As a result, the Ministry of Education said that the school, located at St Matthias, Christ Church, would be closed today.
When the WEEKEND NATION visited the school yesterday, principal Jennifer Hoyte said she did not want to comment, adding “the situation is in the ministry’s hands”.
In a Press release, the ministry said it regretted the temporary closure and advised parents and guardians that the school would reopen on Monday. (BGIS/AH)
