QEH removes vending machines

IF YOU’RE going to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) take your own drinks and snacks, as you may  not be able to get anything to eat.
That’s because most of the vending machines throughout the institution were removed last Friday.
This was the result of a directive from the board of management as the QEH moves to have healthy snacks available.
Four drink and one snack machines were removed from the ground floor, two from the lower ground floor, and those from the Accident & Emergency Department. A machine is still in place in the  cafeteria.
Yesterday QEH chief executive office Dr Dexter James confirmed the machines had been removed, saying this was in keeping with the board’s directive to have only healthy snacks on sale at the institution. (SP)
