Bulls, DC in U-21 finals

CLAPHAM are looking to create further basketball history.
Rahiim Gibbons scored a game-high 25 points as Act II Popcorn Clapham Bulls put themselves in line to become Under-21’s only two-time champs when they upended defending champs First Works Warriors 63-56 in Sunday’s semis at the YMCA.
Romaine Lovell had 13 points while Taurean King added ten for the 2007 kings, who avenged last year’s upset to the Dayrells Road side at this same stage of the competition. Remar Smith led Warriors with 20 points, and Tremaine Shaw and Daniel Durant both scored ten.
In the night’s second game, Richie Walker hit a go-ahead free throw with two seconds remaining as DC United advanced to their second straight final via a thrilling 79-78 nail-biter over Lumber Company Lakers.
Lakers actually trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half (44-28), before Akeem “Supa” Williams had 20 of his game-high 28 points over the final two periods while the Husbands side tied the game at 78 with seconds remaining.
High-flying forward Dario Cumberbatch had a team best 22 points for DC while Antonio Sealy and Walker scored 14 and 12 ,respectively.
For the Lakers, the 2008 champs, Mark Bridgeman assisted Williams with 19 points. (JM)
