JAWS DROPPED and eyes popped when a certain business executive hit the red carpet last week at the Barbados Music Awards.
People were shocked to see that this woman was advertising all of her goods in what can only be described as a “hoochie outfit”.
The barely-there ensemble left very little to the imagination, fitted badly and to many lacked a modicum of taste.
For sure, this lady was the laughing stock of the night and stands accused of committing a major crime of fashion. As a result, she has won Pudding & Souse’s Award For The Worst Dressed Person.
Fashion queen
ON THE OTHER HAND, a well known socialite who loves to step out in top designer brands proved once more that she is the queen of fashion.
She not only looked classy and chic at the prestigious red carpet event but she displayed great fashion sense by changing her wardrobe during the night when she was ready to hit the stage.
The wealthy fashionista who appeared to have also shed a few pounds for the event receives our coveted Award For The Best Dressed Person.
Battle of the sexes
RESTAURANT WARS took on a new meaning the other day when two couples got involved in a brawl.
It took place in the kitchen of a certain restaurant and one could only conclude it was a battle of the sexes.
From what we understand, the boyfriend of the owner of the restaurant, who is said to be a skilful black belt holder, threw down some moves on a damsel in distress, who ended up running for support from her lesbian lover.
However, even though her lover has some muscles of her own she too was beaten down to the ground before she could make a move.
Only one voice
AN INSTITUTION NAMED after a well known hero might be causing him to turn in his grave as he fought against the treatment meted out to blacks in his time.
The new-found heads have turned the institution into a place where the underdogs have no say.
New unnecessary policies are being introduced almost weekly, without consultation. Workers cannot sneeze unless they seek written permission.
Based on the heavy-handedness, the consensus is that the name can easily be changed to “His Majesty’s Prison” because people now have no say.
Legal bind
THE TABLES have been turned on a certain hot-headed attorney at law who likes to use the word lawsuit.
From what we understand, his name has been mentioned in a matter involving the disappearance of thousands of dollars.
This man, who likes to think of himself as a legal advisor to all and sundry, will certainly be seeking legal advice for himself before this case makes headlines.
For sure, he may be on the radio call-in programme to state his case before the court of public opinion.
Sign of the times?
WHY is it that the signature on the prestigious award recently given to one of Barbados’ best entertainers was signed by a former prime minister?
The event is not organized by Government, so some people in the entertainment industry are still baffled as to why the signature of the present Minister of Culture, or even that of the Prime Minister, is not on this award
Could this be a sign of the times?
