PEOPLE STARTED to get jittery recently when they heard that a certain international evangelist would be visiting the island, particularly as the date of a major event is soon to be announced.
The man, who is said to have raised a number of people from the dead is making a special appearance on the island. He is here at the behest of the moral authority who can be found on special days in the big yard.
Apparently, some years ago the latter had stated that under his watch a prominent Barbadian would not have passed away.
Some observers started to wonder if two years on he intended to keep that promise; hence the timely invitation to the man who is a throwback to the days of Lazarus.
Food for thought
NO ONE SEEMS to be able to solve the food riddle that emerged this week from an important place in the City.
Accusations of who ate and didn’t eat at the Big House are flying left, right and centre, but still no definite answer is forthcoming.
An aggrieved colleague is maintaining his challenge to the accuser to call a name.
One name keeps popping up but, like any good counsel, this person is admitting to nothing. The most those around on that day would say is that he was spotted near the scene.
Whether he was in the dining area is another matter.
Missing in action
THE DIEHARDS are wondering where their one-time Napoleon is with all that is going on now.
His opponent is speaking out and making frequent appearances in the north, but this once-respected man remains a no-show.
They are guessing that his absence from one raging controversy could be that he does not want the stigma of politics cast on the plight of the young ones involved.
His opponent’s involvement drew slight criticism for that reason.
But the incumbent may not have to make regular appearances since history has shown this riding to be a stronghold. While challengers have taken every opportunity to score points, they have not worked in the past.
Soon he will know if his time is up.
