Economist Clyde Mascoll has put his cards on the table as far as running for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) in the next election is concerned. He says it will depend on what constituency is on offer.
In an interview with the DAILY NATION yesterday, Mascoll, whom Opposition Leader Owen Arthur has publicly endorsed as a critical member of a BLP election team, said a concrete offer first had to be put on the table.
“When Mr Arthur has found a constituency that he believes fits my profile and he thinks would allow me to join him on his team, a decision will be made,” Mascoll said.
The BLP has so far not chosen candidates for at least three constituencies – St Philip South, St Michael South and The City.
However, there are indications that Mascoll is the Opposition Leader’s choice for the St James North constituency if incumbent Rawle Eastmond opts not to contest the next election.
