The Barbados Coast Guard has added a new patrol craft named Endurance to its fleet, with Prime Minister Mia Mottley conducting the naming ceremony on Friday.

Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force (BDF), Colonel Glyne Grannum, said the 958 Series patrol craft was a gift from the People’s Republic of China.

“The name Endurance epitomises the four decade-long relationship between Barbados and the People’s Republic of China, and is synonymous of our continued commitment to maintain a strong mutually beneficial relationship,” Grannum said during the commissioning ceremony at the Barbados Coast Guard headquarters HMBS Pelican, Spring Garden.
