THE BARBADOS CULINARY team for this year’s Taste of the Caribbean culinary competition heads to Miami tomorrow with high hopes of bringing home gold.
The chefs and mixologists will compete against some of the Caribbean’s finest in the annual event being staged at the Hyatt Regency hotel.
Team manager Creig Greenidge said he is satisfied with the standard of performance by the young men and women who underwent intense training leading up to the competition.
The chefs will be required to satisfy the judges’ palates with dishes and desserts created within a set time from a mystery basket of ingredients they are given, while the mixologists are expected to toss up winning cocktails.
The Barbados team emerged Team of the Year, competing against nine other Caribbean teams. (GC)
