Unfair bias for Mother’s Day over Father’s Day

The decision to have the National Youth Forum launch on Father’s Day is a reflection of the low status of Father’s Day in the eyes of Government and society.

The governmental “spin doctors” will do their best to justify this action; however, they should be aware that all Barbadians were not born big.

I am certain that the Government would have planned no activity to overshadow women’s or mother’s recognition and celebration on their day!

For several years I have been trying to get the media to find out or estimate the amount of money that is spent on mothers for Mother’s Day and on fathers for Father’s Day.

Is it too much to hope that this estimate will be done and published in 2010?
