ACTIVITY at the Immigration Department will be back to normal today after work came to a halt yesterday as staff expressed frustration at the delay in repairing a security glass which was broken by an irate customer last week.
Officials of the National Union of Public Workers were summoned, and efforts are on to repair the glass panel.
But this was not before customers expressed dissatisfaction over the long wait and not having their business transactions completed.
One female, who preferred not to give her name, said she had visited the office since 9 a.m. and was there until after noon.
“After I wait here so long, the man just left and didn’t say he was going anywhere . . . Now I have to go through this again tomorrow [today].”
The main door of the Wharf Road building remained open while the door that allows access to the passports processing section was locked. (LK)
