Not good enough

No wonder the standard of cricket in Barbados is falling as those who administer the king of sports just don’t seem to realize that our cricketers should be afforded the best facilities to express themselves on and off the field of play.
This is what the two sightscreens at the Yorkshire ground, Friendship, St Michael, for a national cricket trial match look like.
Fortunately the cricketers, who are preparing for the regional Super 50 Challenge, didn’t have to endure this ugly sight for too long on Thursday as the second Barbados trial match was rained out after just 11 overs with
Omar Philips’ team on 45 for one against Ryan Hinds’ team.
The outfield wasn’t up to standard either with several patchy areas, while the size of the boundaries, especially square of the wicket, are not ideal for a match of this significance when there are so many other bigger and better venues which the Barbados Cricket Association can utilise. (EZS)
