All Hail King Mikey. Three Monarchs in one week.
Mikey was in winners row again when he was announced the 2012 People’s Monarch at Starcom Network Inc in River Road St Michael, making it his third win for the season.
Mikey’s ‘We Loose” amassed 54 per cent of the votes beating out Yannick Hooper’s ‘Undecided’.
He can now add a whopping 25 000 dollars to his earnings this Crop Over.
But Mikey will not be keeping the whole wad for himself. He has expressed his generosity and will be giving some of the prize money to Yannick, the first runner up. He ensured him that he would not be going home empty handed.
“I am going to give Yannick some of the money because he worked very hard. I will also be giving some to the Team Mikey Charity, for the cause to end violence against women, ” he added.
The same gesture was extended to Mikey in 2009 by Edwin when he (Mikey) was first runner up.
A very humbled Mikey expressed his thanks to all that have supported him.
