Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says her administration has made what she describes as good and steady progress during its first 100 days in office. In a statement from Cartagena, Colombia, where she is attending the 6th Summit of the Americas, Mrs Simpson Miller says 100 days is a short time in the life of any Government. However, she expressed confidence that any objective and balanced assessment of the Government’s performance would conclude that much has been done. Mrs Simpson Miller pointed to the sharp decline in serious crimes for the month of March as one of the major accomplishments. In addition, she says the Government has now laid out its position for a new arrangement with the International Monetary Fund.
