Adonijah for marijuana use

The stigma attached to marijuana in Barbadian society needs to be lifted and its medical benefits recognized.
This, from noted calypsonian and Rastafarian Adonijah, who stressed that the public ought to know the truth about the herb as he spoke during a Press conference at the Clement Payne Cultural Centre, Crumpton Street, Bridgetown.
“People need to stop dealing with hysteria and start dealing with reality and understand that it is something Western medicine is now taking into account and making good use of [as] medical marijuana,” he said.
Adonijah said that to the best of his knowledge, “not one single death has ever been recorded in the course of history that is attributable to marijuana” but “there are thousands of deaths . . . as a result of the consumption of alcohol”.
