There is a new executive director at the helm of the BFPA, formerly known as the Barbados Family Planning Association.

Thirty-seven-year-old Anderson Langdon has been appointed its youngest executive director of the organisation. Langdon joined the association in 2009 and has risen steadily through the ranks of the BFPA. He has been part of all the major changes which have occurred in the BFPA in recent times.

Langdon replaces Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, following her resignation after a successful three-year stint.

Bynoe-Sutherland said: “This work was done with the incredible support of staff who I have grown to love as individuals and as a group. I also credit the former board with whom I served much of my tenure and the visionary leadership of president Rev. Ruth Phillips for ensuring that we achieved as we have.

“We are now at a juncture to lift off on a solid foundation. We have the challenges of a building and infrastructure due to the fire, but I view this as an opportunity to gain new allies and reassert our national value. I am confident that the current senior management team and many of the core staff are up to the task of growing the organisation. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve, and to grow professionally while on international assignment and I look forward to serving the association in other capacities.” (PR)
