The Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance will be conducting road works in some northern, eastern and southern districts from Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13.
All commuters are asked to take note of the impacted areas and are encouraged to take precautions and travel safely.
South Point Depot, Christ Church – Work is continuing on the reconstruction of Rose Hill Road, where the crew is preparing for paving. Work is to commence on the construction of a footpath from Kendall Hill to the junction at Silver Hill. Two entrances are also scheduled to be constructed on Maxwell Main Road. Two bus landings at Thornbury Hill and Callender’s have been completed. Work on a footpath near Gordon Walters Primary School is on hold.
Joe’s River, St. Joseph – Construction of the new footpath and retaining wall along the new Joe’s River Road is continuing. Slipper and kerb is being constructed in Bloomsbury. The newly built Joe’s River Road is open and is accessible to all traffic. This road was constructed after the Joe’s River Bridge had to be closed due to damage.
Belleplaine Depot, St. Andrew – Work on the road rehabilitation of Franklin Doughlin Road is continuing, where the construction of slipper and kerb and a box drain are almost completed. Mechanical weeding is being carried out along the stretch of road between Farley Hill and Shorey Village. Â
Chance Hall, St. Lucy – Work is continuing on a footpath is Sherbourne with the work scheduled to be completed by the end of the week. The road from Bishop’s to St. Clement’s Church has been completed. A crew has also completed the raising of the kerb at St. Clement’s to facilitate road users. Rockfield has been paved. (PR)
