47 cheers for QEH

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) celebrated its 47th anniversary yesterday.
To mark the occasion, staff members and stakeholders gathered in the hospital’s lobby to participate in a cake-cutting ceremony.
In his remarks on the theme Getting Better Together, the hospital’s chief executive officer Dr Dexter James commended the Martindales Road institution for all that it had accomplished over the years.
He said transformation had to take place at the QEH, and that required staff to work as a team with stakeholders.  
“We are at times faced with unfair criticisms, some constructive and some not so constructive. But, regardless, we come the next day to continue to provide services to the people of Barbados.
“As we know, the country, like everywhere else, is going through tough economic times but if ever there was a time . . . for the talent in all of us to rise to the occasion [that time] is now,” he said.
