Primary and secondary schools across Barbados are having their sports facilities improved.
This was revealed by Minister of Sports John King’s during his address at the 37th annual National Sports Awards ceremony at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex on Saturday night.
“This new administration of the National Sports Council has already begun the task of redeveloping some primary school playing facilities. Indeed, during this financial year, the Wesley Hall and Eagle Hall primary schools have been upgraded with surfaces to facilitate basketball, netball and road tennis,” he said.
“These courts will not only service the school, but simultaneously provide recreational space for those urban communities that previously did not have it.” (RG)
