Roll cages, racing suits a must for test

Cars going faster than 11.4 seconds must be fitted with a roll cage and the driver must wear a Nomex racing suit.

That’s the warning from the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD) as the association moves into final stages of preparation for the We Gatherin’ Acceleration Test at Bourbon, St Lucy, on Sunday.

Scrutineering will start at 11 a.m. and the runs will start at 1 p.m. and finish at 5 p.m.

“Drivers will be given one chance. If you do a second run under 11.4 seconds and do not comply with these safety regulations, you will not be allowed to continue,” said BADD chairman Jason Downey. (TT)
