Double strikes by new Trinidadian signing Shakiel Henry and club captain Armando “Sugar” Lashley inspired Paradise to a 4-1 win over St Andrew Lions as the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League continued at the Wildey Turf on Sunday night.

But reigning champions Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) twice squandered a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with a determined Crane and Equipment Ellerton in the feature match.

In the evening’s opener, an early goal by Shaquille Boyce helped Wales to a 1-0 victory against a youthful UWI side that could have snatched a draw at the death if Niall Reid-Stephen had converted his stoppage time penalty.

Paradise coach Kenville Layne admittedly still saw room for improvement even after their convincing display. (NM)
