Morning quake off south coast

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale was recorded to the south of Barbados this morning.

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre said their equipment detected the tremor at 8:52 a.m. at 12.75°N and 59.61°W. It was at a depth of 50km.

Although most people said they did not feel it, others in Graeme Hall, Christ Church; Lower Collymore Rock and Broad Street, St Michael and as far as St Peter said they felt the shake.
