Barbados will soon have the first mobile hospital in the region.
Tomorrow, representatives from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, in association with the Pan American Health Organisation and the World Health Organisation, will launch the field medical facility on the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s (QEH) Sports Club, Martindale’s Road, St Michael.
The medical facility, which will mainly utilise personnel from the Barbados Defence Force, will be used if there is an emergency at the QEH and to service people across the Caribbean when there is a disaster. (SB)
