All schools to close half day on Wednesday for consultation on COVID-19

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training is informing parents and guardians that public nursery, primary, secondary and special schools will be closed tomorrow, March 18 at noon.

This closure is to facilitate a consultation called by Minister Santia Bradshaw with other government officials, principals, teachers, administrative and ancillary staff and school meals workers to assess and plan for COVID-19, the virus escalating worldwide. The consultation will be held at the Wildey Gymnasium at 2 p.m.

Also in attending will be Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic; Covid-19 czar Richard Carter; Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Anton Best; infection specialist Dr Corey Forde and representatives from PAHO/ WHO and UNICEF

All principals, teachers, staff and ancillary staff involved in the education of children are invited to attend.
