There were some improvements at the markets in Bridgetown yesterday. Inside the Cheapside Public Market around 10:30 a.m. there were no sightings of large crowds swarming the vendors while purchasing goods.
There was also order at the Marhill Street market, where consumers bought from vendors who were plying their trade indoors and at the side of the street.
The changes came days after the Ministry of Agriculture continued to stress the physical distancing rules for vendors and customers, to help stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
At the Cheapside market, senior superintendent of markets Gregory Payne said although there were positive changes compared with the crowding experienced recently, he recognised that some people still needed to be more careful. (TG)
