Barbados’ female squash player Amanda Haywood is trying her best to remain focused.
Like many other athletes, the talented senior player, who is in her second year at the University of Virginia in the United States, has experienced some disappointments, having her life changed drastically due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I had to come home abruptly and that has affected me in terms of athletics, academically and socially because we were just about to start our spring training as a team,” she told Sun Sport.
“Having to come home and create my own schedule and work out by myself is not the same. I don’t enjoy it as much and just having to be swept away from classes, it is totally different coming home to try to do serious work.” (RG)
