Ministry requesting comments on Draft Data Protection Bill

The Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce is seeking comments from the public on the provisions of the Draft Data Protection Bill 2018.

The comments may be sent via email to [email protected]  on or before Tuesday, July 31.

Interested individuals may also visit the Ministry’s website – http://www.commerce.gov.bb to download the draft Bill. The Bill is also available on the BGIS’ website www.gisbarbados.gov.bb in the downloads section under Resources.

The Draft Data Protection Bill aims to regulate the collection, keeping, processing, use and dissemination of personal data; protect the privacy of individuals in relation to their personal data; and provide for related matters. (BGIS)
