Caribbean squash queen Meagan Best earned Barbados’ first ever silver medal in the singles’ competition of the Pan Am Junior Squash Championships in Brazil.

Four hours later, she clashed with Lujan Palacios of Paraguay in the final which proved to be a tough battle.

Best’s attempts to dominate the match proved unsuccessful and she lost a keenly contested five-setter to Palacious 1-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11.

Earlier, Best and Amanda Haywood advanced to the girls’ doubles finals after crushing the No.1 seeded team Colombia 11-9, 11-6 before defeating Ecuador 11-3, 9-11, 11-9.
