Some Barbadians said they are thankful for the upcoming ease on the restrictions that were imposed because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
However, they are hoping that people don’t go “overboard” with some of their reinstated liberties.
“I think it’s a good thing that some of the restrictions are being lifted, but I think we need to do things in moderation because we don’t want to do too much and get another surge in cases,” Anthony Small said on May 1.
He made these comments in response to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley’s announcement on Wednesday night in a national address, that Phase 2 of the reopening of some businesses and services would start on Monday. The country, however, will still be under curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
