Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes has sent a stern message to all those who congregate to watch illegal group activities, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown.
He said that while certain sports like road tennis had been given the all-clear to go ahead but with certain restrictions, there should still be no groups watching the activities. He stressed he had to send a warning to those who might be thinking about such actions.
Last week, Attorney General Dale Marshall reiterated that Barbados was still under a 24-hour national curfew. He said the intention was to keep as many people as possible off the streets while the COVID-19 pandemic remained a threat.
At the time he was responding to concerns over numerous people being charged with breaching the curfew though they had been in public outside of the 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. period. (HLE)
