Barbados Water Authority (BWA) employees completed repairs to a nine-inch burst main at Tichbourne, St Michael on May 28.

The burst main was discovered around 9 a.m. and by 5 p.m. all repairs were completed.

BWA’s marketing officer Yvette Harris-Griffith said the areas affected by the burst main were Bell Gully, St Barnabas, Mount Friendship, sections of Howell’s Cross Road, Two Mile Hill, Haggatt Hall and surrounding areas.

Harris-Griffith said in addition to repairing the burst main at Tichbourne, BWA had four other confirmed burst mains, ranging in size from three inches to 16 inches. There were also five suspected burst mains on May 28.

A businessman in the area, Vernon Lewis of Lewis Concrete, also assisted the BWA crew at Tichbourne.
