The march is on!
Attorney General, Dale Marshall this evening gave permission to the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration to stage a second Black Lives Matter protest.
General secretary of the Movement, David Denny, confirmed the Attorney General had called earlier today to grant the special permission, after a June 6 application had been turned down by Commissioner of Police, Tyrone Griffith.
In a letter date June 9, police had informed the Movement that the protest could not be held because it would have contravened Section 10 E of the Emergency Directive for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Denny then sent off an urgent letter to Marshall, who gave the thumbs up. (BA)
