Earthquake shakes parts of Jamaica

KINGSTON – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0, was felt in sections of the island early Sunday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake was recorded eight kilometres to the north-north west of Buff Bay in the eastern parish of Portland.

Tremors have been reported in the Corporate Area, the northern parish of St Ann, the parishes of St Mary and Portland – in the east and the central parishes of Clarendon and St Catherine.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries. (CMC)
