Share post:

Sixty temporary posts were created in the Ministry of Health and Wellness for community health liaison officers, who have been tasked with spreading public health messages related to COVID-19 and other public health issues.

The officers, who are assigned to the polyclinics, are visiting homes and collecting information, which will allow the Ministry to profile households within the various catchment areas.

All information collected will be treated confidentially.

Duties of the officers, who will carry Ministry of Health identification cards, include providing support for contact tracing efforts in respect of COVID-19, engaging with community leadership and groups to promote health initiatives, encouraging members of the community to cooperate with health interventions and collecting and collating community information as directed by the Ministry.

Householders are asked to cooperate with the officers as they carry out these functions. (BGIS)
