Barbados Workers’ Union and Preconco Limited have resolved differences which arose over cuts in workers’ wages recently.

The matter was referred to the Labour Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations on May 18, according to a statement issued by Barbados Government Information Service.

“The parties met and accepted that misunderstanding of the position at the end of the meeting of May 14 was responsible for the impasse.

“During the meetings of June 24 and 26 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labour and Social Partnership Relations, Colin Jordan, these differences and misunderstandings were amicably resolved and the parties agreed to a date and regime for restoring the wages, thereby making the workers of the Barbados Workers’ Union Bargaining Unit whole again,” the statement said. (BGIS)
