General workers in the production department are back on the job at Oran Ltd.

Earlier today, about 50 of them downed tools to protest what they deemed an ‘unsanitary and unsafe’ environment.

Management at Oran Limited met with officials of the Barbados Workers’ Union and both parties came to a resolution. The business acquired the services of Rentokil Pest Control and Pilot Management Services to bait and perform an industrial cleaning of the workplace.

The union officials promised to check in with the company from time to time to make sure health and safety best practices were being carried out.

Later, they debriefed the workers who returned to work after noon. (SB)
