Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds says border control agents at Grantley Adams International Airport are adjusting well to the new COVID-19 protocols for the resumption of commercial flights.
He added that while it had been less than a week since the restart of flights, Customs and Immigration officers had been presented with several challenges which they handled quite well.
During a webinar on border reopenings hosted by the Pan-American Health Organisation yesterday, Symmonds said this ability to adapt was largely due to the officers having had several dry runs in repatriating cruise passengers during the lockdown period.
He said that as a result, officers were better equipped to enforce safety measures and improvise when necessary. (CLM)
