Prime Minister Mia Mottley made several changes to the Cabinet of Barbados, shuffling out some of those who were appointed in May 2018 and promoting others from the back bench or the Senate.

In an address from Ilaro Court on Wednesday evening, Mottley said it was time to make changes to the team which would direct Barbados’ policy in a “post-COVID” environment, even as she acknowledged the virus was here to stay.

Parliament will be prorogued on August 8, 2020 and a new session will take effect on September 15.

Mottley said she communicated this to Governor General Dame Sandra Mason in their meeting today and there will also be a new Throne Speech.

Story to be updated with changes. (SAT)
