Travellers to Barbados are reminded that they must adhere to all novel coronavirus (COVID-19) protocols, as set out in the Emergency Management COVID-19 Protocol (No.2) Directive, 2020.
Visitors attending private parties, recreational or competitive sporting events, banquets, balls, receptions, any social event, and meetings of fraternal societies must wear face masks; practise strict physical distancing protocols and follow instructions given by the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit.
Government said in a media statement on Tuesday that tourists who provide false or misleading information to the Chief Immigration Officer or Chief Medical Officer pertaining to their accommodation in Barbados will be guilty of an offence.
They are reminded that when placed in quarantine they must remain on the premises of the private residence or hotel, and not receive any visitors. Any person who contravenes the directive, without reasonable explanation, is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $50 000, or to imprisonment for a term of one year, or both.
